Back to the Sound-Off Room
Noele's Tonight Show Review December 4, 1998
If I could think of one word to describe this weekend it would be
"Han-tatsic"! Cheesy I know but there is really no other way to sum up
the awesome time I had at both theTonght Show taping and the Jack Frost
premiere.. Now then here is my experience at Leno!
I have to thank the "powers that be" for always making my dreams come
true. I was treated like a queen for Leno, the only way it could've been
better was if I had tickets to go into the "green room" and actually
talk with the guys. I would say "meet" them but I was already blessed
with that oppotunity in September. Anyhow, about 30 mins before Leno was
set to record my best bud and I were escorted to our front row seats
which gave us the most incredible view of the guys ~ especially during
their interview segment..
The anticipation only grew as we had to sit through both of Jay's first
guests but when he annouced the guys we were up like a rocket out of our
seats dancing and singing like fools to "Merry Christmas Baby".. I have
to admit I was a little taken by surprise by the lack of backing vocals
(ie: the ba ba ba da da's) BUT the guys put so much energy into that
song and Taylor's voice was so amazing that I was hardly disapponited.
When the song was done and the guys joined Jay on stage I was in sheer
heaven with Isaac, Taylor and Zac literally 8-10 feet in front of my
face. I was blown away by how close we were sitting to them and at the
fact they readilly acknowledged us numerous times. I really think they
guys would've actually talked "with" the audience if they weren't
filming live!
During the break I saw a couple cute moments that were oh so Hanson
including:
- Zac jumping on the couch and dancing to the band
- Isaac and Taylor sneaking in "brotherly conversation" ie: lots of
whispering
- All the waves and hello's the guys said to a number of us
AND
- Me trying to talk to Taylor about this Xmas gift I brought for them
I must say as you all have gathered by watching Leno, Jay asked most of
the same tired questions although the car one was certainly unique and I
got in my two cents worth responding with a very LOUD "alright" when
they were asked about if the have girlfriends..
The segment ended all to quickly but it wasn't over for us happy Hanson
fans - the truely devoted and even somewhat "insane" peeps stuck around
to watch Hanson leave the NBC studios.
When their van was getting ready to exit they stopped to get out and
greet those who had waited although it turned into a mob scene quickly
and not everyone(myself included) got to shake hands or talk with the
guys. Its to bad because we were very patient and respectful yet we lost
out because we decided to act adult about encountering them instead of
going nutso. Sometimes it makes me wonder if it would be better to join
the "crowd" but I know that Isaac heard us yelling at everyone to stay
back and appreciated it because he looked right at us and smiled. :)
As they drove off I was happy and already anticpating the next day,
which was the Jack Frost premiere and my next adventure to share with
you soon! :)
