Noele's Jack Frost Premiere Review
It just seems like yesterday that I was debating whether on not to join
the "crowd" and attend my first sleep over for a Hanson appearance.
Believe me, I was prepared - five layers of clothing and all BUT
something in me at the last minute just said "Stay home, be warm and
cozy- Hanson wouldn't want it any other way" so I did...
Sunrise woke me and then it was a mad rush to decide what to wear. Hey,
you never know, I wouldn't want to look like a fashion disaster if the
guys actually LOOKED at me! Does anyone else ever feel that way? Hanson
fashion- a point to ponder! Then a mad dash to the car, coffee and best
bud in tow and lots of LOUD Hanson music and we're off!!
Okay, we are like the 200th person in line, I am thinking that isn't so
bad but let me tell you one thing - I feel really sorry for the people
who did actually spend the night because at around 9:30 am the security
people decide to tell the crowd to proceed in an orderly fashion to the
front of the metal barricades- WRONG! You think anybody walked?? They
sure didn't know what to expect from Hanson fans! The people who had
waited all night to secure a spot in line just lost out to the rush of
young folks that flew past em! (Insert line "Fly the wings of an eagle"
in this spot)...
The cool thing about waiting at any sort of Hanson event is that you
undoubtedly make friends there (and in some cases-enemies) the girls in
the front row (we were 2 people deep) didn't like us telling them to
actually consider "moving" so we could see the guys too.. We had to
literally stand on each other or those around us to see the guys- I
really don't think anyone noticed though! Too much adreline flowing!
I remember how everyone screamed every time they saw a limo pull up
thinking it would be the guys- uh remember now- they come in a van! I
would assume most Hanson fans already knew that, and sure enough the
black van we had a very CLOSE encounter with the night before finally
arrived...
At ths point it was truely hard to hear much (except lots of screaming)
but the wait was nearly over and after all the press had been finished
they took the stage to play their scheduled 3 song set, Taylor did
mention they wanted to keep playing so they threw in one more for the
crowd but had to end after that ( I honestly think they intended to play
more but time ran short) most of the throngs of people scattered after
the gig but a few fans stuck around- the patient ones always win out
(remember this people!) we saw Scott their bass player and he was nice
giving us a big grin as he loaded gear into one of the numerous vans and
also saw thier infamous road crew of course..
Since we had such awesome luck the night before at Leno we didn't want
to push it and decided to call it a day..BUT I am very anxioulsy
awaiting the American Music Awards in January (which the guys will
undoubtedly be at) and I will give the full report here first! Until
then....
